Adoration of the Eucharist

Eucharistic adoration is practiced by an ever increasing number of Catholics thanks to the insistence of Pope John Paul II. Some chapels in America also offer perpetual adoration of the Eucharist, which is displayed and worshiped non-stop 24 hours a day.
Parishioners, on seeing the sacred host, believe they are seeing Jesus, the almighty God who created the heavens and the earth.
The monstrance is of silver or gold, and collects the Eucharist; one of the largest is that of Toledo (Spain), and consists of 15 kg of pure gold, 183 kg of silver, many precious stones and 260 small statues. The total weight reaches 218 kg.

What benefits from the adoration of the Eucharist?

Pope Pius XI associated the adoration of Christ in the "most holy sacrament of the Eucharist" for sin. The apparition of Fatima and the "Blessed Mother" taught us to adore the Eucharist to atone for sins. John Paul II said: "All the evils of the world can be overcome through the great power of perpetual Eucharistic adoration. The devil flees wherever Jesus is adored in the Blessed Sacrament" (Lumen Gentium). And Pope Paul VI proclaimed: "How great is the value of the conversation with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, since there is nothing more effective for progressing in the way of holiness!" (Mysterium Fidei).

Catholicism sees transubstantiation as the greatest of miracles. The Almighty God, who humiliated Himself to become man, is thus transformed into inanimate hosts. "Every consecration is a miracle, far greater than any other, really: the fact that God comes into matter and transforms it into Himself is something far superior to having created everything" (Father RT Gawronski). "The body and blood ... soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ ... is truly, truly and substantially contained" in the Eucharist.

WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD SAY, THE BIBLE?

Jesus said, "God is Spirit; and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). After Jesus' ascension into heaven, Paul said that true worshipers are those who offer their worship "through the Spirit of God" (Phil. 3: 3).

Christians are called to have a look at the things "which are not seen; for the things which are seen are for a time, but those which are not seen are eternal" (2 Cor. 4:18). Jesus Christ, the eternal God, is now physically present on the right hand of the Father (Luke 22:69), and will not return to earth until after the coming of the tribulation (Matthew 24: 29-30).

The Bible teaches that Jesus offered himself as the "one sacrifice for sins" of those who believe (Hebrews 10:12; see also Romans 6: 9-10), and that there is no need for further sacrifice or repetition, because "this He did once and for all when he offered himself" (Hebrews 7: 25-27; 9: 22.25-28).

Teaching that the incorruptible, omnipotent and holy God - not the flesh and blood of Jesus, but the Lord himself - is contained in a corruptible host that can be handled, eaten, digested and evacuated is by far the most execrable, irreverent and profane form of idolatry.

What needs to be done?

Listen to God's word and put it into practice (Luke 11:28). May God help us in this!
